Today I get newer build number 2.13.401.3 via WI-FI in Macedonia (FOTA update around 14MB size)
First I updated with 2.3.5 one months ago and the build number was 2.13.401.2, and today I update to 2.13.401.3 (also the same O.S. version 2.3.5 but with newer build number 2.13.401.3). The Sense is the same version 2.1 with 3.0 lock screen. HTC strongly recommend to installing this system update.
I hope that some bugs are fixed and may be some optimizations are made??

Hi,
My HTC Wildfire S has received the update, and now its upgraded to 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 2.1, I live in Pakistan.
Also, following statement has a mistake please fix it as I think you wanted to write 'able' instead of 'unable':
'We suspect this has something to do with the hardware of these not being unable to handle the latest version of the HTC home-brewed UI.'

Halloo everyone who has this bug - htc wildfire s after update to 2.3.5 - cannot install or update any app from Market..
Don’t try cleaning cache and data from Download Manager and Android Market.
Lot of people solved only with uninstalling the updates from Download Manager.
(Also for me help only this):
Go to settings > applications > manage apps > all, select the download manager > clear cache > clear data and then 'uninstall the update'.
May be the only bug is in update for Download Manager.

I had the same problem, tried cleaning cache and data with no result.
So I went in settings > applications > manage apps > all, picked the download manager and 'uninstalled the updates'. It told me the app would reset to factory settings, and when I started the phone again, it was running marketplace 3.4.4 and I managed to update and install apps normally after that.

If your application has stalled at 'Starting download', please use the following troubleshooting steps to help complete your download:
* Confirm that your device is on the list of supported devices, which means it's supported for use with Android Market. If your device is not on this list, please contact your manufacturer with questions.
* For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Wallet account.
* Cancel and restart the download.
* Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
* Confirm there is connectivity to either wireless or cellular networks on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
* Try your download(s) using both wireless and cellular network connections, and ensure firewalls aren’t blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228).
* Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Market app and the Download manager. Here's how:
1. Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Free bengali movie download sites for mobile pc. 2. Tab over to 'All'
3. Select the Market app, and then tap 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache;' then, select Download manager and tap 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache'
* You must be able to successfully sign into Google Talk to download apps from Android Market. Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:
1. Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
3. Launch Talk again to sign in.

One of the fastest phones out there, the HTC Desire S is giving out promising results as HTC is planning to release an Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update for the device. Despite the fact that HTC hasn’t come up with an official release date for the update, leaked versions began to surface through the net. Early users of the HTC Desire S were able to get a copy and test it on their device and were happy to report that the latest version was stable with all the core key features completely intact.
With the Gingerbread version all ready, there’s no surprise that a customized version of Ice Cream Sandwich will soon be available for the HTC Desire S. The Gingerbread update of the device already proves to show promising results and later on will be adopted by the HTC Desire S community.
If you can’t wait for HTC’s official announcement on the release date for the update, why don’t you try the latest unofficial update and see the results for yourself. As a precaution though, this update is not the official firmware from HTC. It is a modified version of HTC’s stock ROM with performance upgrades and smooth functionalities. Always remember that when you install this firmware, this is strictly for HTC Desire S phones only and will most likely not work on any similar HTC phones.
Follow the steps below to update your HTC Desire S to the latest Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update.
Requirements
- Rooted HTC Desire S
- Copy of 2.3.5 Gingerbread update
Installation

The most important step before you can install custom ROMs starts with a rooted phone. You can tell that your phone is rooted by checking your app drawer for the Superuser app or a Custom Recovery for HTC already installed. If everything is there then you’re good to go.
- Download the latest Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread unofficial update for HTC Desire S. Get the ZIP file here (about 330 MB).
- Connect your phone to the computer via the USB cable that comes along with it.
- Make sure that you don’t rename or modify the downloaded ZIP file as there is a high chance that the file may not install properly or does not get recognized once the installation begins. Copy the ZIP file to your phone’s SD card.
- Reboot your phone and enter recovery mode. You can enter recovery mode by simultaneously pressing the Volume Down and Power button keys when your device begins to boot.
- You’ll then be taken to the recovery mode screen. Select “Clear Storage” by navigating with the use of the Volume Up and Volume Down keys and using the Power button as the OK button. After the cleaning process is done, select “Recovery”.
- Select “backup and restore” to make a backup of your current ROM so that you can revert to your original ROM if the installation fails.
- Once done with the backup process, you are now ready to install. Select “Install Zip from SD Card”. Then, select “Choose Zip from SD Card”. Find the ZIP file that you transferred to your SD card to begin installation.
- The whole installation process may take 5- 6 minutes before your device is updated. Once the installation is finally completed, head back to the main menu by selecting the “++++ Go back ++++” option.
- Choose “Reboot System Now” to restart your phone. It may take a while for your phone to completely boot using the new ROM.
Congratulations! You have successfully updated your HTC Desire S firmware to Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Did you try the steps above? How did it go for you? Do you notice any improvements with your phone’s performance by using the update?
